project dreamhouse week 2 :)

we're on week two of our project dreamhouse.:) and in my opinion medyo nagmamaterialize na sya. haha!:) our contractors are trying to finish all the dirty work before the rainy season kaya super extra bilis ng progress.:) So disappointed lang that i didn't get to document the padugo part 2 (this time they sacrificed a kambing, which i think later became a papaitan...heehee!) and when they threw in coins in each wall footings before they poured in cement. Since we started with the construction I suddenly became particularly interested in these pamahiin practices. I'm both curious and amused by it.:)

Our contractor just tells us what pamahiin is applicable on the next construction phase. Mr. Grumpy and I are absolutely clueless about these things. hehe! We somehow chose not to believe na lang especially to the ones that make us paranoid. But we do practice some (e.g. the coins thingy) upon the advice of our contractor, especially if it's not too cumbersome.:)

week 2 progress:

even though it was a rainy monday, tuloy parin ang trabaho. they surely didn't waste any time :)

project dreamhouse :)

February has been such a good month for mr. grumpy and I.:) We met on February 2005, got married on February 2009 and started building our dreamhouse on February 2012.:) We're really excited about this news that I couldn't contain it any longer!:)

I'm sharing some photos of what it looks like at the moment. Nothing interesting yet, puro debris pa lang kasi and bakal pa lang since we just started about a week ago.:)

Day 1: para daw iwas eye sore, we have to cover the construction site

All construction workers are required by the subdivision to wear the green shirt uniform. Daming requirements :)

Day 1: Padugo :). According to Filipino folklore, this is done before the start of construction to ward off bad spirits on the site. It's done for the safety of the workers.

Padugo around the perimeter

from sacrificial chickens to that day's lunch. soooo sorry chickens!:(

my happy mr. grumpy :)

a restless mom no more :)

After seven months in fashion school, I can now finally make my own clothes!:) I'm still experimenting on the pattern making techniques I've learned from school and I must say that I'm miles away from being an excellent sewer. Ang daming "chismis" ng tahi ko ;). But I'm getting there! I shall never give up until I perfect my sewing skills. I don't have photos of all the clothes I've sewn yet (must train husby to take my pictures! LOL) but I will post them soon.

I'm just really glad that I finally found something (aside from motherhood) that I am truly passionate about. I enjoy every minute spent drafting patterns and sewing the garments. But I still couldn't call myself a designer yet, I'm more of a "modista" at the moment. heehee!:) I'm just happily exploring the endless possibilities a basic pattern can present.:) I'm such a busy mom now (*wink!, wink!*)!
